Jason, Maria, and I drove to Kihei yesterday. It is on the south side of Maui and although you feel like you are so far away, because it is so different on different parts of the island, you are really only about 15 miles from Pa'ia. It's funny that way. 
We went to make the best of Jason's day off, go somewhere different, surf, and meet up with Gillian and Mike who were staying in Kihei. However, as you can see, upon arrival, we discovered that the weather wasn't really optimal. But man! It was so cool and nice! And I love a good downpour. You would look in one direction and it was sunny and beautiful. However, when you looked towards the resort area of Wailea, it looked pretty foreboding. There were not any waves to be had anyway, so after meeting up with Gillian and Mike, we went and enjoyed some half price pizza and beer. Mmmm....seafood pizza!!!
